The Odyssey teaches us about storytelling in a different way than we are used to. Instead of going in a chronicle timeline, we go all out of the place. The story begins almost at the end. From there, we split between Telemachus and Odysseus. What I really got out of the way we are told the story is that it is from the point of view of the main character. What I mean by that is that Odysseus knows how he was feeling, he wasn't afraid to show how he felt. He also never stopped his story because he was rambling, rather the Phaeacians wanted him to continue because it was filled with such adventure that is normally hard to portray. The Odyssey teaches us to be true to our characters and the way the events happened. Don't try to go around it or make your character seem inhuman. A story must include the bad and the good parts to be a truly amazing story.
